Plas-yr-eglwys, Roch, Pembrokeshire
Sleeps 1-10

This is a great holiday house for 2 families – all five bedrooms are a good size. There is a really well equipped kitchen and a large sitting room/diner with an open fire. The house overlooks the beautiful XIIth century church and castle.
The back door from the kitchen opens into the 2/3rd acre garden which is mainly grass – ideal for football/paddling pools/sunbathing (it is quite a suntrap!). There is also a big brick barbecue in the garden. The garden backs on to the fields of the neighbouring farm, and is totally secured by two side gates.
The garage has plenty of storage space for bikes/ surf boards etc. There is one basic adult bike kept there for your use.
The house is fully furnished in a relaxed fashion, and is fully double glazed. Night storage heaters or electric panel heaters are in all the rooms and the open fire in the sitting room also heats 3 radiators.
The accommodation comprises : Hall, sitting room including colour TV, DVD, radio and tape player, dining room, kitchen including refrigerator, double oven (one fan, one conventional) with 4 hobs, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, magimix, slo cooker, lots of saucepans and utensils, and a tape recorder and radio. Four double bedrooms (one with washbasin, another with TV). Bathroom with bath, separate electric shower unit, basin and lavatory. Second lavatory. Twin bedroom.
Local Facilities : The area is very unspoilt and yet there are lots of things to do. Within eight miles you can go sea fishing, horse riding on the beach, visit farm parks or sea life centres, and surf. Details of these are kept in the cottage, along with restaurants/pubs recommendations, and where to buy fresh crab!
At the other end of the village (good morning bike ride for young children – fairly flat road!) there is a remarkably good general store with post office and video rental that is open 7 days a week. There is also a takeaway. The pub in Roch is friendly, serves decent food and has a pool table.
Roch is next to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which incorporates the 187 mile coastal path – beautiful and can be walked in manageable chunks. Nearby are plenty of fantastic sandy beaches, also charming coves and ports such as Solva and Porthgain. The islands of Ramsey, Skomer and Skokholm, which provide safe habitats for colonies of birds, can be reached by boat taken and booked in St. Davids.
Haverfordwest has two tennis courts, a golf course, a cinema, an indoor swimming pool, a couple of curry houses, and a big Tesco and Safeways.
All charges are inclusive of electricity. No bed linen is provided, however duvets and pillows are provided on all beds.
Rates : From £700 to £800 per week depending on season.
Maximum of 10 people. Children are welcome.
Smoking is permitted. Pets are welcome.
